Getting Frame Picking Done

Which frames suit my face shape is something we get asked quite a lot. We tend to say that we don’t think like that. We encourage people to try on as many frame as possible and take a good look in each.

What do you like?

What don’t you like?

How’s the colour?

The shape?

The material?

I know we are getting Brexit done, but there are still some things we can learn from Europe. With regard to having spectacles they just can’t believe that British people pick on pair for 2 years. Why would you wear completely different clothes/shoes for work, rest and play and always the same specs?

So have some fun. You might not want a red frame, but try it on anyway.

Independent - seeing things differently

Seeing things differently is something we can do as we’re independent. We make our own decisions on how we run our business. We don’t follow the Specavers franchise model or do what Boots bosses in America say. We don’t manage by Excel. It’s great, mostly.

Having a personal relationship with people makes it all worth while. Having the time to explain, listen and understand problems is brilliant.

But, the British high street is on it’s last legs. Not even a topic of discussion in the election campaign really. Maybe it does not matter. We’re grateful to people who give us a go and especially grateful to those who give us a go and encourage others to do so to. Thanks!

The price should not be a secret only to be revealed when suits the seller

When I look at anything online I want to know the price. If it is not there it puts me off. Maybe it is just me? Anyway, I don’t want people to feel like that with our website or on our store.

When you walk in our place the prices are on the wall in big letters - if you can’t read them then you really do need an eye test. When you go on our website the pricing is there in the same format. Within a moments of walking in to our shop you can know the final price you will actually pay.

So many places have prices on the window that look very attractive offers, but how often do we end up paying that much - that’s not right and it does not have to be that way.

Someone recently advised us to remove our pricing from our website, as other local opticians (multiple and independent) don’t have there pricing visible. Why? Well, you ask them. My hunch is that if you knew what the final price was going to be you might be less likely to go in and if they can get you in, then you might find something you like that you’ll pay for, even if it was more expensive than you expected initially.

The infographic is meant to be self-explanatory, but please get in touch if you need more information.
